Banda ILSNA

Banda ILSNA is the first music project initiated by performance artist Ruth Borg (MLT). Ruth’s melodies and lyrics, sung in her mother tongue Maltese, move between delicate intimacy and raw emotional power. Her sound blends folk textures with soulful, expressive vocals.

Her music and voice are transformed into rich, harmonic tapestries by musician and composer Jethro Cooke (UK) and pulse to the flavour and rhythm of percussionist and drummer Pete Galea (MLT). Fleur van den Berg (NL), though not on stage or involved in the music’s composition, acts as the invisible conductor of Banda ILSNA. She shapes the arc of each set and guides the band’s live presence.
