Acerca de

Ruth Borg (1994) was born on the rocky shores of Malta. She is a theatre maker, performer and vocalist whose work moves between theatre, music, movement, gathering and film.

Her artistic practice is guided by a simple question: how can art help us stay in creative relationship with the parts of life we are most tempted to turn away from?

​

Since 2022, rather than creating standalone productions, Ruth has developed ILSNA as an ongoing artistic practice that has unfolded through different iterations.  Her work explores love, relationship and transformation, asking how we might meet uncertainty not as something to overcome, but as something we can learn to be with.

 

As an artist, she is drawn towards the edges of her own knowing, using each new work as an invitation to venture beyond certainty and discover new ways of creating, listening and relating.

For the past three years, Ruth has been part of Het Verbond in Amsterdam, a space that has supported the ongoing development of her voice and practice.

Ruth is also a facilitator. She collaborates with Slow Sex Amsterdam, facilitating workshops that explore the art of relating, embodiment, sexuality and personal development through shared experience.

Ruth holds a B.A. (Hons) in Theatre Studies from the University of Malta and a B.A. in Mime from the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. She has performed in Malta and across Europe with artists and companies including Julian Hetzel, Davy Pieters, Zarah Bracht and Landmarks Collective.
